I was reading this big hardcover collection of Weird Science comics from the 1950s when I came across this story about this scientist who discovers a way for organisms to split in two, but into half-sized versions.

At the end of the story, he gets revenge on his wife by injecting her with the splitting fluid and she splits into 2 again and again until there's like 64 of her. It was really well-drawn. Shrunk out of clothes too. This was before comics code, mind you.
