Re: Stupid Creationist!

Clearly this topic should just be moved to the flames and BS. People taking it to a personal level is one thing... but then people started being offended at something someone said on the internet!!! I would like to think a level of maturity was there, but people sit there and look down on others and speak to them in extremely negative tones and act like they were not asking for it. I say...

They were asking for the lulz

Moving on to more pressing matters. See figure one where I pointed out that most traditional religions rely on something called free will. A merely assumed feature to the world we live in. Kind of like when we assumed the world was flat. Or that the Earth was the center of the universe.

The big problem is that determinism explains more than anything else. It is the sole reason that we can use the past's examples to predict future events. If things happened at random, I would not be able to boil water at the temperature I did yesterday. Now you will say, "but no, that has nothing to do with choice behavior." And to that I say, "how can you prove this?" Did you know the number one predictor in suicidality was previous suicide attempts? The best predictor of someone committing a sexual offense is their criminal history to related offense, too. And the strongest predictor of someone who rebounds from a diet is number of past rebounds.

Why do humans think that their brains work above and beyond the laws of physics. Isn't that a bit cocky of us? I believe so. We have no evidence at all to support this idea of free will. Most people just say, "boy that'd be annoying to change society all on account on one silly idea."

So, anywho... My stance against religion is that is sure does not make much sense and often weighs in on ethical issues that it has no business meddling with. And it talks about sin. And as I had said before, sin is absolutely impossible. Yes, indeed, I have faith in that assertion. FAITH!!! OH DEAR!!! IM PART OF THE PROBLEM NOW!

And now please everyone take note of this very important quote

"You can try to say that religion never tried to impede science, but I would say your view of the subject is impeded by your ass, as your head is shoved far up it."
