Re: The Haunted World of El Superbeasto
I get the distinct impression - based on those extended storyboard clips - that the filmmakers originally intended Velvet's inflatable physique to figure much more prominently than it did in the final cut. They devoted so much time to showing off what she could do, I can't help but feel they were going somewhere with it.
Still, I can understand why they went with the shorter version of the introduction. The extended version - as entertaining as it was - didn't really serve any purpose or advance the story in any way, beyond shameless fanservice (not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you). They'd already solidly established her ability to inflate and control her boobs and butt, so there was no real reason to belabor the point any further.
If there's one thing I've learned about filmmaking, it's that short and punchy generally trumps long and draw-out. The shorter intro - slightly disappointing though it might be for expansion fans - was definitely the wiser cinematic choice.
I'm definitely going to have to snag a copy of this DVD when I get the chance. The local Blockbuster just down the street has them in-store, so I'll probably be moseying on down there within the next week or so to pick one up and give it a look-see.
