Football videogames cause an alarmingly low rate of concussions.

I like to play sports, too, but the games simulate many things most people can't do. I can't dunk a basketball on a regulation basket, or hit a homerun in any kind of sizable field, or not look completely ridiculous trying to play tennis. And the only times I've found enough people to play 9-on-9 baseball or 11-on-11 football in my whole life were in an organized league or gym class.

I could find a football and a few friends and have fun. I also have access to real musical instruments, but I'd rather play Rock Band. It's a fun, challenging game, but it doesn't make me want to join a band. Unless it's a Rock Band band.

If videogames more accurately simulated real football, I'd play them differently. Injuries would be much scarier, careers shorter, and imagine if you had to watch what happens to the players afterwards...
