If you would like to see something a lot like it in forms of plot, message, visual themes and more watch fern gully. Avatar has the better graphics over all but fern gully had the better characters and plot. The imagery is the most striking similarity between the two and unfortunately what most people consider the most original in avatar.
Visuals that were highly similar: The leveling machine in both were almost identical. The tree where everyone lived were both spiral in shape. The way things glowed as people walked over them.
