You're not seeing the argument because there isn't one; I can't be fussed with going to the effort to create something, thus I expect nothing in return. It's a cynical, perhaps even selfish way of looking at things, but that's me I guess.
While your point about putting down something in half an hour might have been true of me 4 or 5 years ago, I no longer enjoy writing and thus it's pretty hard to drum up any enthusiasm any more. My job killed my joy in writing and my muse a long time ago.
