This here is a pretty prodigious piece of artwork. Right off it has some excellent production values (ie - It looks good), but what really makes it stand out is that it breaks from some mermaid art standards:
1. It isn't set underwater or on/near a beach. This can get all too tiring after a while. Of course, I'm still waiting for jungle/mountain/desert mermaids, so this is definitely mucho bonus points from me here
2. The mermaid isn't nude or nearly nude. The "skimpy" mermaid (wearing just tube tops, bras, or nothing) is overdone a bit, and, although it isn't really a bad thing, and nothing is wrong with this, this artwork was a nice breath of fresh air in garb chosen. It's diferrent, and would stand out for anyone a fan of mermaid arts...
This is why this is a must to view, no matter what you call art, because this is good.
Now, BACK INTO OUTER SPACE!! *blasts off into the unknown*
