It's actually a pet peeve of mine. I'm willing to engage in mass guessing by the halfway point, or even at the 10 episode mark for long-runners, but any speculation before the main character receives her powers just seems silly.
Just feels like speculating on the ending before the bad guy even shows up on screen, i.e. predicting a movie's ending one minute after the opening credits start rolling (not that it's impossible, of course)
That said, I DO recommend Madoka for anyone who likes a dark and creepy feel to their Magical Girl
the third episode REALLY caught me off guard.
Oh, and there's potential for EC too >_>
BTW still haven't found "Sayoko" yet...*sigh* the wait is interminable.
