Yep, that's what I think they're aiming at.
But, that's a long spell to have to wait between eps, and interest in the series will inevitably cool somewhat. However, if as suggested elsewhere, they're rewriting and reanimating the conclusion (in the wake of the recent tragedy in Japan), it might be entirely necessary.
