Something me and my friends resolved about the "vampires" in Twilight:

They're fey.

Think about it, fey (fairies) in celtic lore appear human, kidnap people all the time to have them as slaves or to make them into another fey, are known to have drank blood, have superhuman speed and strength (even flight at times) and some sparkle when exposed to direct sunlight or moonlight. Add to that they're supposed to be pale and heavily attractive to humans, and guess what? Meyer's "vampires" are fairies.

And those aren't werewolves either. They're more like shapeshifters who can only go wolf. >.>;

Goddamn Meyer and those fangirls.
