Finally tried out a 3DS demo unit at Best Buy and I can't believe they thought this 3D tech was good enough to ship. It's kind of a cute gimmick for all of the four seconds you can get it to stay focused at a time, but I was playing the Pilotwings demo and no matter what I could never see the floating rings in 3D. Never mind how pointless the 3D is in the first place. Everyone who is in any position to buy a 3DS has been watching projected images since they were children, be they games, TV, or movies, and the human brain is actually pretty damn good at seeing a 2D imagine and filling in the depth on its own.

You realize the game was only created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of LoZ, right?
What Nintendo is doing is pure genius: Make it "limited quantities" to build a demand, then reissue it later on ALONG with either a new LoZ or Majoras Mask. People will then snatch up both. Nintendo has actually done this in the past, as have other companies. This is absolutely NOTHING NEW. Its just like the Pheonix Wright series: Almost every single copy that Capcom ever made of those games has sold, yet they only made a very limited release of each one.
I know how markets work....it's when something isn't around that EVERYONE wants it. I experience this first hand in my day to day job....
The 3D on the system works beautifully. I don't know what system you are playing but it must not be a properly working 3DS. The system has DEPTH, it does not jump off the screen at you. Rather it makes the screen into a window. I can remain focused on the 3D for hours on end without any issue, unless I'm using the accelerometers to aim like in LoZ. In cases like that I either close one eye, or quickly flick the 3D setting down. And when you really compare the 2D to 3D in this game it really makes a difference.

It's going to have to face against the NGP in terms of graphics though (I refuse to call it the Vita as that it easily the most idiotic name I've ever heard). That's supposed to have PS3-level graphics from what I've seen and heard. Of course, I likely won't buy one. It seems like it's trying to do TOO much, to the point that it'll become a hastle to actually work it. Not to mention that, while good graphics are good, the screen won't be big enough to make a huge difference. Those, added with the fact that the PSP was a horrible system, leads me to think I won't be getting one.

Like when the DS went up against the PSP and totally kicked its graphically superior ass? It's all about the games, and really the Vita only has one game coming for it that's looking any good. That game is Uncharted. It wont have PS3 quality graphics, but it should be close, whereas the 3DS seems to be able to do Gamecube-esque graphics. There isn't any games out to really show that though.
Oh and on the topic of other LoZ's for the 3DS: Miyamoto himself stated that he would like to see a Link to the Past remake done. And I'd like to think Nintendo would want to keep the Big M happy....
