Too true. You see that style of writing (the 3 sentence chapters) in the early portion of the bearchive adventure. Writing.com has no unity and its hard to find good, interesting arcs that stretch more than 5-7 chapters. Some of the stories I liked involving SW just up and disappeared, so permanency is an issue, as well.
CYOC has some crazy creative arcs that have many long branches, but there are also a lot of other.... bizarre crap that turns me off of the site. For instance, there are
a lot of gay TF arcs and I don't like to read those at all. It also has the problem of having to many options, so if you find an old but great story arc, chances are that it is permanently extinct.
I love the interactive story medium and I wish that it received more attention. It's more accessible than many paid comic and story sites and can be more creative and interesting, too.
