To be fair, as far as I can tell...
... the more fetish-like the artwork, the more likely they are to have to fade away sometimes for a few years because of work.
With all respects, people have lost jobs much more paying than any commissions because of the likes of this.
I can think of a few Disney ex-animators, if anything, like whose job was utterly destroyed when they found someone auto-asphixiated himself whilst looking at his artwork online.
Said artwork was hardcore M/M furry art, and let's just say it did not sit well with his bosses when they learned the artwork from that website was his.
And that's just one of the more extreme example. Sometimes it can be merely family, relationships and other such things.
In all respect, "life" can truly do happen.
