Well, I don't know for France, but here, in Quebec, Frog is a verry pejorative term to talk about French speakers... And, when a French Speaker whant to be mean with an English speaker, he use the name "square head"... Don't ask me why! Lol!

I'm from Qu?bec too, and that's why I taugh it was playing in the "cheap clich?". And for square head, was because the french canadian taugh that the english canadian were close minded, stubbord and a bit intolerant.
But I guess the French get there revenge from the insult by eating the english tourist!
