I think many of the active writers today produce material that far exceeds the quality of the stuff produced by many of the older writers (that have either stopped writing or disappeared). My favourite stories have all been written in the last 2-3 years, and I've been reading stories since docs lab was back on furvect servers, the old transformation story archive was thriving and there was a fairly high volume of stories being uploaded to tfcentral. In saying that, there are a couple of short story series' that I'd love to see continued. Darkcousin's Pills series springs to mind.
