Think we've all been there. Few years back, I was up for a sysop position, only to suddenly stop receiving callbacks with the vague explanation of "it's no longer available." Come to find out, nepotism is alive and well; or, so it's claimed by their former HR manager.
Bottom line: shit like this happens; probably shouldn't, but it does. Keep your chin up and don't let this minor setback get you down. You will do something great.
