Good thing I know how to cheat to make it easy . I don't make any of the models myself, instead I tend to buy clothes that have undress morphs, e.g. the jeans here come with one that makes the fly pop open. I then use a combination of custom transparency maps that make parts of the clothes transparent in the render plus some post work. The latter basically involves two layers, one with a render the clothes on top of a render without them, and I then just use an erase brush to draw in some holes (I do the same thing now for the spread of fur). As for the holes themselves looking good that's pretty much from straight-up practice; if you go look at my earliest stuff it looks a lot more like what you complain about .

Because I was in the groove and already had a guide for the panel contents and layout this actually only took a week to put together.
