I had an idea for a Final Fantasy VII fanfic where a mean-spirited FFVII player (a man) had let Tifa die on purpose. Then Aerith got angry and pulled him into the game world, then turned him into a replacement Tifa.
I never wrote it, though.
In a similar vein, I had started but never completed or saved, a Star Trek: TNG fanfic where an uber-Trekkie was transported via the transporters onto Picard's Enterprise (it's the work of Q), and was subjected, during transport across dimensions/timelines, to a "subspace virus" (or some other kind of technobabble) which would slowly turn him into a clone of either Dr. Crusher, Deanna Troi, or some other female main character of the Star Trek universe (maybe even Nurse Chapel or an Orion Slave Girl; I never got that far into the story for anything to be nailed down). This was to teach Picard of the importance of not being centered upon one version of the timeline and to expand his mind to allow for the possibility that their entire lives might just be some television show in another universe.
I know unwritten/unpublished stories don't help but just wanted to let these ideas be known in case it might inspire someone else.
