UPDATE: Well, I officially feel like shit now - I didn't realize you'd been going at this on this site since mid-2011. Where
does the time go? Anyways, I checked up on "where I came in" versus "where you started" and yeah, my comments are kinda shitty in that context, aren't they?
Sorries all around! You can keep reading or stop here, but know now that the rest of this post is a response directed from the perspective of the more subtle changes in your artwork between July of last year, which I might've handled with more tact had I bothered to read the hundred or so posts before I entered the picture.
Please don't take this as glossing over the post prior the one above, as it is not my intent; likewise, please do not mistake my intent from earlier this morning. I go long bouts without sleep, and during those, my sense of humor gets a little - strange, maybe? Punchy? Either way, I didn't mean to offend, though I do admit to perhaps taking a bit more of a poke at you than was strictly necessary.
That being said, I shall continue to comment on art styles that remind me of another; I know that you are an individual artist, demonstrably - repeatedly - capable of producing your own unique style, but you're asking me to accept that art exists in a vacuum, which it does not. That's what makes it all the more special when someone with a truly unique spin comes along; you're fantastic
in spite of the giants who've inspired you, not
because of them. I never meant to imply anything less of you or your artings, and it
does pain me that you'd think that I meant my comments in any sort of derogatory context.
For what it's worth, I apologize. I can only expect you to be you.
Hell, someday - at this rate, someday soon - you'll inspire others to take up the pen.
I can't draw for shit, but with the progress you've made over a few short months, I'm more encouraged to try.
