Nah, she always had control of the expansion mansion because it was originally known as Stormr's Zone. Stormr ceded the entire site to her for whatever reason, that's when it was renamed.
The reasons she got flak and a lot of bad rep was because she would stop updating her sites months at a time with no notice. She made a lot of false promises. She was poor at communication. The worst and the biggest issue was caused when she decided to turn the expansion mansion into a pay site, there was the whole issue with people's free work being basically sold without their permission. She owned the site/forum before that happened, though.
The drugs thing is an unfortunate rumor I heard, but if you look at some of her later videos it's pretty obvious.
