No what you posted was not tl;dr it is very cogent, legible, and brief. The "tl;dr" in my handle is making fun of me and my giant walls of text, not other people.
My take is not so much that people generally have a problem with TF, but once you entangle TF with what is or simply appears to be sexually charged (even if that is just nudity) suddenly a lot of people can get pretty squeamish about and bothered by it. If there is nothing sexual, no nudity, no violence, and no bodily fluids I don't think anyone is directly bothered. However, even then people can get weirded out if they see you drawing a ton of the stuff on all your free time and it is attracting what some perceive to be the "strange" cult following of TF fans. In such cases it is probably more fear of the unknown and different then anything directly squeamish about the content, but it is definitely there and does happen anyway.
