Well, guess my plan to not de-lurk failed. I sent ya the answer (pretty sure, anyway) a good five-six hours ago in a private message!

Luckily I had read it maybe a month or so ago, and remembered the girl he got stuck with was a manga author/artist, and that site has it (mangaka) as one of their tags, so it was fairly easy to find again.

Lemme know if that isn't it, though I'm pretty damn sure it is.
