Ehh... It's not popping, it's more like the high spikes of the "S" sounds.
The volume is pretty much standardized through the audio until an S comes in, then it suddenly doubles in intensity.
Ah, I tried switching to a few different devices, and they're a bit different, but I can hear the same overall issue arising with them. It's a very high-pitched disruption to the recording. Kind of like squeaky metal.
I'd assume it's caused by too much air being pushed toward the microphone at once, from what I've tried with recordings in the past.
One could make a cheap "Pop filter" by using a circular jar lid (structure), some paper towels(filter), a couple of sideways paperclips(connect filter to structure), and some pipe cleaners (to hold it in position in front of the microphone).
If you can nip this problem out of the way, it seems like the rest will be just fine.
