@matteso586 - I included the older guy as a simple thing to show that at the point she's at, she didn't care that he wasn't some gorgeous stud. She just needed to mate and took what she had because she desperately needed it. Don't worry, he's not too old to leave her with kittens
As for the ending, I think it's impossible to not leave some kind of hook at the end of all of my stories. Seriously. Pretty sure every single one of them is left open to varying degrees.
