I strongly agree. Never had an anime series made me facepalm so much by critically failing to deliver from the original manga. The most unique aspect of the saga the 2nd episode was based on was that homunculus character Adam with its ability to shift genders or become a futanari. He was supposed to be the main highlight, yet they skipped every opportunity to appeal its traits properly. They rushed too much, altered the events, and skipped what were originally many opportunities to feature decent process for the character's ability. Especially the part where Adam is punished by the witch Eva and turns into female. I mean, HOW COULD THEY cut that part out. That was like the best part of the saga from the manga for me. Such a lost opportunity.
