Re: Why I Won't Be Seeing The New Ghostbuster Film
Qzar, for me, it's unfortunate that the man behind Freaks & Geeks and Sabrina overreacted to a handful of persistent trolls and called out literally everyone who didn't care for his reimagining of one of the great cult classics of the 80s as hateful, sexist, WASP-male anti-feminist trolls (which must've come as a surprise to the many non-WASP female critics out there). It's the principle of the thing: somewhere around Bridesmaids, Feig became convinced that he could do no wrong, and that anyone who disagreed must be full of shit because his don't stink. People like him don't respond well to criticism, so that attitude must be curtailed by financial disincentives; otherwise, we're just telling both Feig and Sony that it's acceptable to mount smear campaigns against their detractors to recoup financial losses, since they're no longer liable for retaliation under that idiotic Citizens United ruling.
They want us to see their "masterpieces" and pay for the privilege, they can treat us like human beings or burn in hell.
