My memory is spotty, but I think that xbox 360 Tengai Makyou game had a jorougumo that was disguised as a human first, but they just faded to black the transformation before the boss fight.
I wonder why the Goemon series never had a Jorougumo. Man, imagine a steam-mecha jorougumo.

I thought that exact same thing as well. To be honest, the reasons for my continued faith are in Bloodeborne, which is also a game akin to the Dark Souls play style. There was an enemy in it named Vicar-something and it was a woman, who was in turn corrupted and transformed into a wolf. Though it was only a shadow, it did give me the motivation to search out other instances of TF in the game, to no avail of course

. Anyway, point im trying to make is that there's no harm in keeping a watchful eye.
In regards to Jorougumo, I recently looked up a ton of japanese yokai and their depictions in popular media. Sad to say for myself, much of what is depicted is often in the form of literature, much of it untranslated from its original text. It's hard sometimes......
