Firstly, thank you to those who contribute as they wish; the data is proving both interesting and compelling.
To answer the question raised by Ficfactor, and echoed by lock and hexen in their understanding, that is a salient issue, and I will clarify.
In regards to the depiction of the senshi, I am referring to the anime; as it was through that medium that the franchise found widest diffusion with the fans. Though, I am a fan of the manga too, I would say the most generalised experience of the characters is tested, thus it would be the anime, and not the manga
