I'm not so sure of that. I think it's a combination of
- Exhaustion, we've been at this too long, my friend.
- People flooding the markets with complete shit, or at least stuff that doesn't interest me at all. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two.
- Market fragmentation. There is so much more of EVERYTHING.
Point 2 breaks down further
- Mislabeled material. You may read my rants about BE in giantess stories (Yes, boobs grew, but so did the rest of her! Proportions unchanged == No BE). It's hard to filter out the good shit from the bad shit and there is a lot of bad shit.
- Dunning-Kruger effect. There are a LOT of truly pathetic writers out there who think they're geniuses.
