Nice. Why do they always have to be rescued from the curse? Can't they just be cursed for a little while longer?

I think the first time I ever saw this sort of thing as in an old episode of "Mr. Belvedere" of all shows. It was called "the Dropout" where the wannabe-lawyer mother drops out of school and makes herself over into the perfect housewife. Look it up on YouTube if you're interested. WARNING: Is an episode of "Mr. Belvedere."

I was also interested in a play that was making the rounds a couple of years ago called "Maple and Vine." The story was about a modern-day couple who, seeking a simpler life, go to a fifties-themed community where everyone lives and dresses like it was 1955. I never sought it out because I hate plays and the message was surely along the lines of "we were horrible to women and minorities in the fifties!" Which I'm already aware of.
