Perhaps I should clarify: I assume you probably did have to buy a quality microphone at some point. Perhaps some sound editing software, as well. But that's pretty much all you needed, wasn't it? And you never have to buy anything else, right? Because once you've got the equipment, you can use it over and over and over again, and all you need to input is your time and your voice (which are costs, but not monetary ones).

For videos, you've gotta buy costumes and pay actresses (or, for those actresses who sell their own content, they usually have to pay an editor, someone to run the camera, or something like that). And that's something you have to do every time.

For comics, you've gotta pay an artist for every page. If you ARE the artist, you've gotta pay a writer. For the rare instances that you can do both, that would be the only time there's no continuous cost - but that's not common.

That's more what I meant - videos and comics cost something to make *every time*. Audio recordings have an initial investment for some decent equipment, but it seems like you wouldn't need to spend much after that.

Now, you're the expert, so if I'm wrong, let me know. I'm just working from a point of "it stands to reason."
