It's that you look like you're online for chat when you aren't.

I'm RPing a lot less because of my significant other. In fact, not really RPing at all for a long time. Nor do I really want to chat with regular friends all the time, but I get pinged a lot when I just check in on some posts. 'Cause even though I have chat off - it shows I'm on to my friends. (I've been shown this.)
