Re: New TF Art Pack

I purchased it. Because I enjoy your work and that makes it worth it. I am a professional artist, writer and musician. And, unlike some of the parasitic pricks on this website and most of the internet, I realize that $8 is a sandwich made by unskilled labor, a weeks' worth of training (if that), and fuck all dedication to one's job. Or two coffees shat from the Starbucks hellhole. But given that most here are used to jacking off to whatever they can scavenge from the creative detritus of others, and they have the time on their hands to argue over whether an image has enough females in it to be posted to the main forum, or whether skin-bursting tfs are tfs, I can't imagine that seeing a price-tag on anything wouldn't result in a bunch of whining when they could just as easily create something for themselves or find a higher paying job with all the time spent bitching over a gnat's ass.

My suggestion would be to advertise somewhere else, or advertise here but not listen to anything the peanut gallery has to say. You can charge whatever the fuck you want for your art, and you do not need to let the mire set the bar. And by posting here without ever responding to comments, you will have the attention of the people who come here only to find links to other websites and never participate in the forums which, by the way, is the majority. Or you can respond positively to positive comments. If you want to make money off of your art, there is a long road of separating your audience from your detractors. Sometimes it's hard to tell which is which. But people that ask you to lower your prices are not and cannot be your fans.

I mean, is anyone that puts "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people.” in their signature worth listening to? That was a quote my buddies and I joked about way back in middle school. I mean, he couldn't even be bothered to dedicate time to thinking of a novel thing to put in his sig. Here's an addendum: petty minds discuss prices.

Obsidian, on the other hand, is worth listening to. Someone that likes your art or might end up liking your art usually is interested in the creative process too, or at least in the stages of the work, which themselves can be enjoyable in their own right. Most artists that sell comic in the Furry and Transformation communities include some of the composition process, as 1. only fans pay for work, someone that leeches off of you for free is not a fan, 2. fans are interested in the work beyond the mere image. In the end, both you and your fans benefit from including sketches, etc.

Dark Horseman basically voiced that he is not really in your current target audience, so if you diversified what you sell, he might be.

I'm not even going to read any irritated responses to this message or anything that is posted in this thread after my message because either 1. it resonates with the people it that would benefit from it or 2. the people that it find it offensive aren't worth my time. In either case, I've said my piece. So, if you are feeling butthurt, save your breath.
