Let me put it to you this way: Satoshi isn't accused of any crime, and I've yet to see the investigation of the Winklevii.

What if there were to be a third-party that translated such payments into real cash and just did a Send Money in exchange for a link? If the link were to be dynamically-generated single-use, it'd be insanely easy to cut off misbehaving actors from future releases, thus providing the incentive for them to stay honest.
