I'm not sure how many of you follow Magic, but the most recent set, Eldritch Moon, has quite a bit of TF of the tentacular nature.
The basic story is Innistrad, the gothic horror plane full of vampires and werewolves and ghosts has been invaded by Emrakul, an timeless cosmic horror from beyond the multiverse. As part of the invasion, Emrakul has physically transformed much of the plane into manifestations of her.
For example, this card was in the original Innistrad set:

Another good example is what happened to two of the guardian angels of Innistrad, Bruna and Gisela, who originally looked like this:
and who, under the influence of Emrakul, became this:
and then finally fused into this:

The block also includes Arlinn Kord, the first werewolf planeswalker:
