The mental aspect of the change is definitely under explored. I love the physical aspects, certainly, but what happens in the mind doesn’t get the attention it deserves. For example, does the person fear or enjoy their dual nature? Are they even aware of what’s happening? (David in AWIL was sort of in denial after his first change.) How does the physical change itself impact the person? Is it painful? Pleasureable? Do they remember it afterwards? How much control do they have over their alter ego? Does the wolf side affect the human side’s behavior, moods, or even physically?

Obviously the answers to these vary from story to story, but I find these things to be really interesting.
