Worldwide TF

If it was posted here already, fine.

Basically, this is for things that effect the entire world, either the bulk or the entirety of the world's population is effected. How often is this used as a plot element? And can someone give me links and so forth?

Re: Worldwide TF

This isn't a story or anything but a few friends of mine have often contemplated this. We've discussed how the world would pan out if transformation were to run rampant. Of course, it all depends on the cause, whether its just widespread or total.
Since I am a fan of all forms of transformation(Not simply anthro/inanimate as everyone likes to link it to). Its interesting to wonder how the world would operate afterwards, if everyone was given a random TF of some sort.
I think it'd be interesting to see what new prejudices would crop up. Nonetheless, I've used it in RP many times.

Re: Worldwide TF

This was actually done in Shadowrun, where humanoid diversity occurred due to magic returning. Some people were born into it, while some people spontaneously mutated. Further events continued to tear asunder the genetic structure of what was once standard human.

Biases were slightly more against those who weren't born into their race, and normally against it until time wore it away for the most part.

Re: Worldwide TF

Worldwide changes were a staple of the old TSA mailing list, almost since inception. World of Change (where everyone became furries) and Tales from the Blind Pig (infectious TF disease) were popular shared universes where some or all of the world changed. There are literally hundreds of these stories on the TSA archive. The Wild Cards book shared universe series featuring an engineered disease that could cause TFs and superpowers would also qualify. A good case could be made that Wild Cards is the direct inspiration for TBP.

Re: Worldwide TF

This is one of my favourite modifiers on a TG/TF scenario, more specifically, a reversible triggered change applied worldwide to a large fraction of the population.

Probably my favourite fanfic ever plays out the scenario of Ranma catching a cold and passing it on. A cold Washuu (from Tenchi Muyo) has been playing with. This eventually results in effectively a planetwide spring of drowned girl/boy curse. It also features look in crossovers with Futaba-kun change, evangelion and a bunch more.

The author's website went down a couple years ago. Looks like there's a backup halfway down the page here:

In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean is a fight, where art and fiction over the entire planet starts to become real. The chapter's name is Bohemian Rhapsody.

Re: Worldwide TF

There are plenty of such stories on various interactive sites here and there, but it could take a little digging.

From The Overflowing Bra: Happenings (you may need to page down to see it in the author list). First, everyone but teenagers disappears from the world, then there's BE and increased arousal, and it continues with more and weirder changes.

You have to pay for it, but there's a good world-changing story on the BE Story Club called "Big New World" -- might be worth signing up for (at least) a month.

Re: Worldwide TF

I recall "Kreb's Folley" was based on that concept (on Doc's Lab). Basically, everyone in the world becomes an anthro. The story focused mainly on a man turning into a dog and his wife turning into a sow. Sadly, cross-species relationships fail in that world (they both smelled 'wrong' to one another and were boinking neighbors of the same species in the end). Still the pig tranformation descriptions were sexy.

Re: Worldwide TF

Thought of another story with some "worldwide TF" elements: The Gate of the World (caution: it's pretty long)

Re: Worldwide TF

There is a manga that has been around for awhile.. It doesn't have direct TF process per se, but it does have worldwide TF.

Warning, Lots of Smex involved.
