Well as stated there, illegal is a bit too strong a term. But yeah, that's another unfortunate side effect of socialized healthcare, government gets their foot in the door to get in your personal life.

Again that anti-healthcare bullshit? 1. Since when it is a basic right to be a fatass that is a burden to society with his larger healthcosts? 2. Every country in Europe has socialized healthcare, and there are plenty of fat people running around here, not as much as in the US, but still more than enough. And NONE of then, even none of the retardet ones, feels that the gouverment is invading their personal space because they are landwhales, most of them are actually happy there is socialized health care, because the society pays for their big health costs (see burden to society in point 1.) and they are not at risk of financial ruin like their fat counterparts in the US. Because frankly, if you are poor and ill in the USA you are screwed. One example: my uncle, who is an unemployed, 300 pound diabetic with an heart condition would be dead allready about ten times if he was US-American and not German. He is still alive because our socialized health care pays for his medication and his frequent visits at hospitals and doctors. 3. Politics have been outlawed here, did you forgett that? Re: Is It Illegal To Be Overweight In Japan? OHMY!
A friend fractured her cheek and jaw while living in Germany. I was really impressed with the treatment she recieved, despite not being a citizen. She required extensive cosmetic work to return her face to it's previous state (it had begun to heal in a mangled position.) Didn't pay a penny though.
I'm all for denying the fatties healthcare. If you're not making an investment in your health, why should the healthcare system? Being obese = extra healthcare costs. The government shouldn't reward people for unnecessarily costing them big money due to their choice to be fat. I do think the margins people are expected to conform to in Japan are unrealistic though. Being a lardass and carrying some extra weight just aren't the same thing. You can be overweight and healthy as a horse. There's not a chance you'll be without health complications if you're enormous though. Also, "landwhales" made me chuckle. |
