Are... these characters me? O_o
Wasn't sure if this would be considered bullshit thread material or not....
I bought a manga and this other thing that... is a manga but not... it's just another tip book for drawing manga which I like to read sometimes when they have characters displaying tips in manga form. I had to stop reading after a line because i got scared O_o Anyway this book is "Shoujo Beat's Manga Artist Academy". How to create shoujo type manga and stories (....what?). The characters in this informative manga are interesting. They pretty much took advice from these 4 mangaka and also put them in the story as part of the character line up. Ms. Shinohara is this angry critic type person that doesn't sugar coat things, Ms. Takeuchi tends to stop all work for a moment when things get too complicated and has a goofy way of talking, Ms Akira has low confidence in her work but likes to give pointers anyway when she can, and Ms. Sugo is the over expressive supportive one. They are all giving tips to the main character, Satomi, which is this innocent panda girl that has dreams of becoming a great mangaka one day. See.. at first I didn't take too much thought into the characters but something clicked when going though the Ms. Shinohara chapter about taking your story idea and putting them in panels. Pretty much at the end of one of the chapters she says " START OVER AGAIN!" After chewing out Satomi for making something horrible. This made me stop reading and look back to the characters that are presented so far. These characters are friggin me O_o..... Ms. Shinohara is my high standards angry critic side ( which I tend to keep under wraps until I see someone who deserves the beast to be unleashed upon, I let this persona loose on my own stuff most of the time), Ms. Takeuchi is my persona that tends to stop everything when I feel overloaded with things to do, Ms. Akira is my low confidence in my work and Ms. Sugo is my goofy expressive side. Satomi the panda girl is me..... Usually when I encounter a character in a manga that i can sort of relate to I don't really think much into it since they are just character that are made to be interesting in such manor but it's usually shown through interests and not personality by much but.... these 5 characters just remind me WAY TOO MUCH about myself when drawing with there personalities >.> .... I dunno.... I don't get creeped out by much but..... this just made me feel like someone is watching me somewhere.... or did I just adapt such a weird stereotypical way of thinking for those japanese manga artist...... * is a little shaken * |

People will often fimilarise themselves with aother factors and people and characters since it allows them to understand and accept themselves.
Think of it like a horroscope. They will give you vague wordings and some how they still link themselves to these vague wordings. In this case its not so vague but same idea. Relax my friend. I- I mean they are not watching you |

Yes they are. But that's an entirely different story, for another time.
On the topic at hand, I think that they seem to represent parts of you because they are intended to. Everyone has these bits, so everyone can relate to these characters. It makes it easier for their stuff that they's trying to do.
