Street Fighter: Legacy

This actually brought tears of joy to my eyes. No joke.

Suck it, Hollywood. Suck it hard, and chase it down with a Tatsumaki-Senpū kyaku to the nuts!

I have no idea why hollywood makes it so hard for themselves to make a video game movie when fans do it 100 times better themselves it with a tiny budget and a limited crew.

That was f'in awesome! Holy shit, I'm not big on fighting games but that really makes me wanna try street fighter 4. Too bad the forest preserves in Chicago are a notoriously famous place for gay guys to hook up and boink. This video gives me the confidence to run into the woods and beat the shit out of them while screaming weird sounds pretending I'm saying epic Japanese things. Awesome find JBird.

The two bolded words are the reason why.

Hollywood just wants to make money, they are not fans and their hearts are not in the project.

Whereas with fans the work is a labor of love, so they do their best to honor the source material.

Great actors but the special effects really killed any serious tone to it. Okay sure, it is an adaption made to be as close to the games as possible. This doesn't mean that an upper cut needs to include a flaming punch. I would like to see the fight without these with exceptions to techniques such as the hadoken.

*Street Fighter Nerd Mode*

Ryu's main focus is the Hadōken, while Ken's is the Shōryū-ken, hence the flames. While they both share these abilities, they've been made noticeably different as the series progressed.

And, to have a fight with only the Hadōken, you will get The Legend of Chun Li.

Well, at least it wasn't Hakame in the vid.

And did anyone else find it ironically bad that she was taught the Hadouken by Liu Kang?

Not especially. There are far many more problematic reasons films like The Legend of Chun Li wasn't good and it was not just because there was no flaming punching.

I was inferring that they relied on a fireball special effect, as if it would convince people they were watching an authentic Street Fighter film.

And don't even get me started on that pathetic Spinning Bird Kick.

Re: Street Fighter: Legacy

Don't get me wrong, I thought this was great. It's fantastic that someone decided to do this and rub it in the faces of Hollywood.

I was glad they included the flaming uppercut, it wouldn't have been Ken without it but that Spinning Kick was terribly done.

Maybe with a bigger budget and some more special effects they could have had him stay up in the air for longer.

Ken blocked the hadoken pretty unrealistically as well and that last shot where they just jump in the air and sort of make contact with their feet? Was that meant to be them fighting or just showing how high they can jump?

But it was an enjoyable 3 minutes. It kicked the Street Fighter movie out of the water anyway.

It proves Computer Games can be turned into films which brightens my day.

The only reason I can understand how they went about doing Ryu's spin-kick was that it would have looked completely silly if he done the whole thing from a short distance. And them jumping into the air and kicking was just their way of ending the film. As you can tell, they never really connect.
