An Idea: TF Reversal

Okay, so I had a weird thought the other night. The fun of TF's is the human to animal/anthro transformation, but is there anyone besides me interested in a reverse TF? Not an animal becoming a human, or an anthro becoming a human, but a person who was PREVIOUSLY turned into an animal/anthro turning BACK to their human form?

For example: A lab accident turned a female scientist into an anthro cat, and so she has to develop a means of returning to her human form (antidote, nanomachines, whatever). So after some time passes she completes and uses the cure-thing and becomes human again. Basically two TF's of the same person but one happening a while after the first.

Anyone else into that idea?

It's a cool idea but it's definitely been done before. Someone just recently posted a revert TF the other day, actually.

Reverts are good in my opinion. It allows for stories to have either happy endings, or for the same person to transform again and again. I have planned for the finale of Climate Change to have detailed reverts. Just not sure when I'll get around to writing it.

It's not uncommon. I feel it takes away from the impact of the TF and teases you, but it's a bit more forgiving to the characters. Off the top of my head, I know Silverwolf had a couple of commissions that did just that, as well as Zekey, although this is more of a backwards TF. Just about every mainstream transformation like werewolves or single episode transformations revert as well to avoid carrying it over to other episodes.

Yeah, I know it's been done, just didn't know if reverts were something people in the TF community generally liked. One idea that popped in my head on this concept was a post-TF pandemic world where everyone had been turned into an anthro species of some sort like in the story Kreb's Folly, where a scientist after years of research finds a way to finally undo the virus's effects and return people to their human forms. The real problem with such a scenario would be the possibility of the former humans getting used to their more animal-like forms and not caring for such a cure. Of course the cure could also be imperfect and leave people only mostly human.

I don't value one over the other. I know I see people talk about permanent this and irreversible that, but that's just talking about their fetish. If reverting is part of the story, then it's part of the story. Whatever makes a story best is what makes it best.

In fan-made stories, as it was told, it is not so uncommon. But try to find any of these in "commercial" stuff where not "implied" revert is shown... yeah, nothing I say.
The nearest thing I remember was a male revert in Romasanta, with a wolf turning back into human.

Yeah, I remember that one. I don't think they ever show him becoming the wolf in the first place; and ultimately the whole thing was just in his fucked up head and he was never a werewolf to begin with.

From a story perspective, I like partial reverts. One story that's been running around in my head for a while involves a princess being turned into a wolf by angry druids. After a long quest to regain her humanity, she winds up becoming a werewolf (keeping her human mind while in wolf form), which is a slight improvement.

I also like the idea of evil conversion in which the character regains their conscience but keeps their powers and demonic form.

But from a fetishistic perspective, it's the human to animal/demon/monster aspect that I like.

Well, the partial revert is fun too. Going from full-on animal to a human with just a few anthro features is one I like. One anime series (forgot the name) had a woman who was turning into a cat from a cursed potion she was forced to drink. When she was finally given the antidote she returned to normal save that she still had cat ears on her head. There's also a partial TF-revert in Jitensha's 'My Pet Girlfriend' (1&2) which I got a kick out of.

I'm asking because I do have a TF comic I'm bit-by-bit working on and might do a revert (or partial revert) in it. If it's something people want, I'll include it.

I personally don't like them. I'd much rather have a story or sequence showing the subject's life after the TF, having to adapt to their new form, instincts, etc. Hardly anybody does that, though.
