Talking Foot Growth Animation! ...yay?

Whew. I mean, sup.

Well, tonight I had decided to try my hands at animation (yeah, I said animation, not animated sequencing) and thanks to a comment on my deviant art page, I decided it would be a growth animation, specificly a foot growing and tearing apart a sock. Not exactly an award winning thing, but hey, it's a start. There are two versions, the Faster bigger, where I took out the fading mid frames, and the slower smaller one where the mid frames slow the process down so people can see it a bit better.

Total time to complete: 1 hour.
The original animation was 1200x942 size, which I'll post on my DeviantART account later on (like tomorrow later). Dunno which version I'll post up, likely the slower one.

Enjoy!

I'd like to see how far you could go with this.

Very nice indeed. Its hard to do animations and alot more work involved. Very nice for a first try. Hopefully you will have time to work on your skills with this some more. Work your way up to a full sequence.

Yes, and work with those... was the word "ankle"? The foot is thinner here.
Don?t worry, it?s a common mistake. Specially if you?ve been playing too many videogames.

Hey, give the man some credit. Stuff like this isn't easy to do, and I view this more as an experiment that had some level of success then something that needs to be perfect right out of the gate.

Thanks Lorekeep. ^_^

Yeah, I didn't try very hard to keep everything looking 'right', at least not with the foot. It was more about seeing how well I could animate the ripping without jumping the gun too much. Until the last few frames, all the tares don't really add up much, so the last part was more of a burst then simple ripping.

I didn't plan on taking this anywhere else, it was just a simple 'test', but hey, thats how almost everything I do starts as.

Wow, true brilliance man, true brilliance. I didn't realise you would act so quickly on what I recommended, but I'm really glad ya did.
I may love this piece, but I really doubt that Blar would even tolerate such work on his site, with his anti-feet policy, so just watch out. I think people only really like it if they have at least a small appreciation of feet, and that's something this board is known not to tolerate.

I despise foot growth.

But even I can admit that is pretty well done. A little sketchy (excuse the pun) at times but still a damn good piece of work
