Support a TF Artist: Dragon-Storm

The guy's fallen on hard times: the fact that he's thrown off his usually friendly manner and become snappy suggests it's very serious indeed.
Please, help his flow of TF art coming! He's quite a fine artist, and it would be a loss to have his star set.

Looks to me like he's being an ass to most everyone in that journal.

That's not gonna win him customers.

Seconded. I mean, I can utterly GET where he's coming from, yet doing that sort of thing isn't exactly appealing to the "I'm going to help this guy." mood.

In contrast, I know exactly where he is coming from.

Being polite would have been the first thing I'd have done before throwing out the collection bowl, no matter what situation one happens to be in. You don't ask someone for a favor by hitting them.

Why did I rather amusing image of some guy hitting some other guy saying "PLEASE HELP ME! *punch kick* I NEED HELP MAN! *kick punch arm-break* I NEED SOME HELP!! *C-c-c-c-c-combo breaker*

Haha, possibly because your mind makes freaking awesome leaps!

Either way, I'm never opposed to helping a TF artist in need, but a little civility goes a long way. Flies. Vinegar. Honey. Etc.

I think his mood choice on the journal is a taste of irony, "pride".

Well he's got pride, and I think it'll be his downfall. Of Course I shouldn't try to criticize an artist when I myself draw like a flipper handed freak child...

The real irony is that I've read his journals, and he's usually a model for politeness. The fact that he's getting all snappy just underlines how desperate he must be.

Re: Support a TF Artist: Dragon-Storm

I usually have no problem helping out artists if a crisis comes up or something of that nature. But he just said he was broke and to give him money or no art. I can understand not wanting to give any details or anything, but if he just wants money without working, which isn't ruled out by his journal, then I'm not so inclined to give to help out. If, say, he had broken his leg and had to quit his job or something, it'd be another matter. Since I haven't heard of him until now, I'm not so willing to give money to someone.

I'd rather support a bad artist that knows how to be nice than a good one that's an ass.

That having been said, there are plenty that are both nice and talented. Jolly Jack and Mamabliss in particular tend to get my dollars.

Re: Support a TF Artist: Dragon-Storm

The nearly trillion dollar bailout suggests Dragon-Storm will have plenty of company.

I've probably been in a far worse situation then D-S,so don't expect me to
help him.Being in a far worse situation has made me a firm believer in looking
at government art grants, rebates, etc. However over the last 9 years I've noticed the tf community seems "grant challenged" and instead went for the
quick fix of going for the lucrative fetish art market.Hence they never
bothered thinking of "Plan B's" for their art.I think they'll find simply
pleading hardship or being a charity in need of a handout won't work.
