Re: Science Ftw

Awesome news, but for some reason my first thought was the conversation between Asuka and Shinji about temperature and expansion.

Although the stem cell technique will restore volume, it will not provide firmness and uplift.

That is all I have to say

Ah yes... That is where Stem Cell research should be focused. Upon the heafty growth of breasts and other such flesh pillows.

The above sentence is... Sarcasm and.... Yet it is not... I just don't know what to believe anymore....

Re: Science Ftw

Nice. It actually uses non-embryonic stem cells as well! So I wouldn't feel guilty using it~ It makes me sad they can't just take the fat from my stomach and just shove it all in my breasts, then I'd be a really nice size :3

Shame that the stem cell process is really unreliable at this point. Sadly, this would more than likely increase the chances of breast cancer; especially how some research shows that stem cells may cause tumors. (Though what do you expect...cancer is technically cell division gone wrong)

Go, go, go, go, Science! *waves flags* Thanks for the link~

Re: Science Ftw

neato, but if it is all the same to everyone the whole stem-cell research towards cosmetic purposes such as breast expansion has been on this board numerous times...although if they actually have a successful test of said technology then that perhaps would warrant a new thread...sorry to be 'that' guy.

Did you read the article and the alternate one that was linked in that article? There have been successful tests of this in japan.

"Dozens of women in Japan have received the breast enlargements during trials."

"The use of the cells for cosmetic breast surgery was begun in 2004 by Kotaro Yoshimura, a surgeon at Tokyo University medical school. He said last week: ?I believe that within five years my procedure will be available as plastic surgery and that it will prove very popular.?

"Yoshimura said last week (February 11, 2007) he had had ?no major problems? with the 39 women to whom he had so far administered the treatment. He has also used it to grow new tissue on the faces of three people with disfigurements."

?Breast augmentation is cosmetic but these cells have the potential to treat diseases ranging from cancer to Alzheimer?s.?

You can use gasoline to power a car, or you can use it to accelerate a fire and burn down a house. You can use a hammer to drive nails or smash windows. I wouldn't read too much into stem cell research being used for cosmetic purposes. That doesn't mean we don't learn things along the way that could make something like a cure for cancer.
