Welcome to Gyntas: A Growing Town! (Prologue)

Okay, this is short even by my standards, but it's been so long since I posted anything, I wanted to get something out.

Let me know if you have any ideas, requests, or theories about where this story should go.

Summary:

A young college graduate takes a postion as a high school science teacher in the small town of Gyntas, Michigan (motto: A Growing Town!). There she discovers that, in this town, Murphy's Law has an unusual sub-clause: whatever can cause growth, will cause growth.

PROLOGUE:

Susan Anderson smiled tiredly as her new hometown came into view. It had been a long drive from New York City, where she had just finished college (earning a bachelor?s in education), to Northern Michigan, which she had found her first job teaching high-school science.

She passed a large colorful sign that said ?Welcome to Gyntas (Pop. 1,713), A Growing Town!? She hoped Gyntas didn?t grow too fast; she was looking forward to small-town life.

A gas station was coming up. She checked her gauge and decided to fill up before going to the house she had bought over the Internet. She pulled in and filled her tank, glad that gas prices had finally gone down. She walked into the station to pay?and stopped dead in shock.

Manning the register was the most?robust young woman Susan had ever seen. She couldn?t have been more than sixteen years old, but she had to be 6?4?. Her company shirt had the top two buttons undone, but it was still far too tight. The sleeves barely made it past her shoulders, exposing her bulging biceps. Several inches of ridged stomach were also exposed, as her E-cup breasts pulled the shirt up her torso. Her nametag, proclaiming her to be ?Cathy?, looked tiny perched on top of her left mound.

Overcoming her shock, Susan slowly approached the counter. The teen giantess smiled at her perkily. ?That?ll be $17.84,? she chirped.

Susan handed over the money, and began to turn away as the register bleeped?only to turn back in surprise when she heard Cathy moan softly.

The teenager had her eyes closed, and seemed to be very happy?and as an astonished Susan watched, she grew! Not much; ?only? about an inch, but it was quite visible. And it wasn?t just height, her proportions grew too. The third button on her shirt popped off and landed on the counter, and Susan realized now that the buttons on her company shirt weren?t simply undone, they were missing.

A soft tearing noise drew the teacher?s attention to the girl?s right shoulder. A two-inch hole opened up in the seam there, and bulging muscle quickly filled the gap.

?Mmmmmmmm?? Cathy let out a very SATISFIED sigh, and open her eyes again.

?What?what?? Susan sputtered.

Cathy shrugged, making her mighty mounds bounce playfully in a way that made it painfully obvious she wasn?t wearing a bra. ?Every time I ring up a sale, I grow,? she said, as calmly as if she was discussing the weather.

Shaking her head, Susan walked back to her car, wondering if she was hallucinating. That?s filled my weirdness quotient for the year, she thought as she drove away.

Oh, if only she knew how wrong she was?

Hmm interesting. Anything can cause growth. How about Sneezing, reading, beating a freind at a video game, punching someone, kissing, answering the phone, or eating? That's all that I can come up with off the top of my head.

This seems a little too "deus ex machina."

I don't think that term means what you think it means.

Anyways, it's an interesting idea, but if everyone really grows from doing almost anything, wouldn't pretty much everyone over 20 or so be in the Mega Giantess range? And wouldn't the town probably be flattened under the butt of a 100 mile tall + elderly woman? I think the idea needs some fleshing out.

Re: Welcome to Gyntas: A Growing Town! (Prologue)

Just thinking it out - the wording was "whatever can cause growth", and we know from real world experience that not many things can. Obviously from the first part the growth isn't at every action or the clerk would have grown from more than just the sale.

Sales translate to company growth, so it may be some sort of enchantment that takes from there. Embarrassment causing character growth might have an interesting effect if that's the case, with the embarrassed person growing rather than shrinking. It could really be fun if someone was embarrassed by their growth.

I'll be curious to see your next installment.

When it's all said and done, the author is in charge of the growth. From what I've read so far, I trust this author!

Keep it up good sir!

Are we really, honestly, trying to apply logic and constraints to a growth fetish story...?

I'm interested, Historian. Do continue.

I like this beginning very much. I agree with qzar that it seems silly to nitpick logic in a story like this. Please keep up the good wwork!

Now this is something I can look forward to. Whatever causes growth, will cause growth. Nice.
