Up and Out - Contest Entry
Recently, Berggie has set up a contest for a picture of his. Check it out and the other story entries in his journal. As for me: I did a poem since its a unique twist. I hope people like it and I do well, wish me luck guys ^^
~Allie Strong was normal as could be With a hip and a skip she oozed with glee Cinnamon locks and gorgeous eyes Buxom top and skinny thighs Clickity clack her heels on the ground Drawing stares from all around Long legs in a skimpy skirt Buttons to the top of her shirt Making her way to market ahead But something causes the turn of her head A stoutly woman with bottles to sell Filled with a rainbow of colors as well “Just what I needed!” Allie deciding to stay “A drink was on my list anyway.” Licking her lips picking with her eyes But the seller spoke to her sudden surprise “Be careful young one, these drinks are quite strong.” “One sip and many things could go wrong.” Allie was not pleased with the woman’s heeding tongue “I know what I’m doing and how dare you call me young!” “I know soda’s sugar and can make people fat.” “I’ll drink only one it’s as simple as that.” A fiery tongue young Allie did lash Taking bottle of green and slamming her cash “I’ll say this once and give it to you straight-” “Take you own advice about watching your weight!” “You watch your mouth!” The woman said so “Throw away my advice and simply go!” Allie walked away from a mess she made “What a shady store, you’re lucky I paid.” Allie’s laugh rung oh so clear in her ears If she wasn’t so angry she’d instead be in tears “High and mighty like a queen on her throne” “It wouldn’t surprise if you were simply alone.” “My warning was true, things will be wrong” “Attitude and nose raised high, oh but for how long?” With liquid in hand it washed and churned Taking no pause, giving the cork a turn An eerie mist soon would rise However, not drawing Allie’s eyes Bottoms up and elixir down Drip by drip in her stroll through town With nothing left, the bottle was clear “With a taste like that I have nothing to fear.” As she smacked her lips she spotted the store Without a care in the world she steps through the door The store bell dings with a tiny chime Little to no shoppers inside, she was just in time “I think I’ll start with milk” she pondered somewhat But suddenly she felt a jolt in her gut A gentle tap became a nudge, a punch “An upset stomach, I didn’t even have lunch” Was it that drink without a name? Giving a grunt she knew who to blame As she went down the aisle the pain grew worse She gritted her teeth and dug in her purse Something to ease that terrible ache Her rumbles, her shakes, her tummy quakes But it suddenly stopped, faded away “That was pretty odd” a confused Allie would say She tried her best not to think of the pain The feeling maybe gone but the memory remains “Where did that come from?” she said with pout But her foggy mind couldn’t figure it out It was best to ignore it she thought with a smile Picking out items as she walked down the aisle But alas the pain it came back with a bite Lunging her forward with its shocking might It felt like a knife was stabbing her through It burned with fury, what was she to do? A man took notice to her painful jerk Rushing to her aid and ignoring his work Holding by the shoulders for more support “Are you alright?” came a small retort The pain did fade yet again she saw Now leaving her with an open jaw The man that helped her was cute she thought But feeling his touch made her blush a lot “I’m fine” she said stepping aside Checking below, with her hand to her side “That looked painful, should a doctor come by?” Allie shook her with her head held high An awkward silence would follow soon after Then a volley of nervous laughter “I should get going, I don’t wanna get fired.” Since it was the end of what had transpired Turning around quickly to leave Something then surely rolled off his sleeve A pen that he held in the front of his shirt Allie took notice and soon gave alert “You’re pen!” she said bending over to grab But suddenly returned the stomach jab The pain, it hurt as she shouted out It was sharp and worse without a doubt The man turned for another verbal exchange But would turn to see something quite strange Offering him the pen as she came up from her lean Her hazel eyes would surely turn green! He gasped from the bizarre event “Is something wrong?” little Allie went? Her new green eyes glowed in her head But that eerie green would surely spread Up her arm and down her chest Scaling her legs and through the rest Allie didn’t know as she tilted her head Dropping the pen in his shirt instead The pain she felt didn’t leave quite yet It stung over and over, causing her to sweat Her stomach now made its own terrible cries Bubbles and groans soon would arise “You definitely need a doctor.” the man soon advised But yet another event would cause more surprise As Allie stood high, she indeed stood tall Taller than normal as he soon would recall His forehead was her height limit before But now that wasn’t the limit anymore She was high off the ground, her chin over his head Over the top shelf and past the bread “I’m fine really. It’s just a tummy ache.” Allie truly didn’t know which was a mistake Her stomach made a sound once again it would seem Leading to Allie giving yet another scream The evidence was there, from the strange green glow But now more would arise as Allie began to grow It was in a flash, hiking her skirt and shirt She grew quite a bit in her abnormal spurt The man couldn’t flee, his legs would not budge There was no one around to give him that nudge Past the bread went her ample chest Rips began to form in her bosom’s nest Allie opened her eyes in the storm of pain Only to find something to confuse her brain “Hey, what’s going on? What’s happening here? Allie would say, her voice filled with fear “Is everything shrinking?” Allie asked very confused That’s crazy, impossible her mind would refuse Her clothes were so tight as they wrapped and snagged Squeezing her limbs, as rips zigged and zagged The world couldn’t shrink Allie’s would decree “The only thing that would change would be me!” She finally realized her bodily change A growing frame, and her clothes in exchange Allie huffed and puffed in a panicked state She needed to get help before it’s too late She scouted down to search for the man But him being gone was not in her plan He ran away, it was a terrible sight What was she to do now in her increasing height? Her stomach gargled and washed inside It wouldn’t stop no matter what she tried “That drink!” Allie shouted taking note “That dirty old lady…” She said holding her throat “I’ll find her and force her to fix this mess” But Allie’s swinging anger would return to distress She was getting too big, her clothes could take no more Her shirt and skirt would soon meet the floor Snap! Rip! Pop! Strain! “This can’t be happening. This is just insane” Underwear of pink soon losing its grip She’d surely be naked with one final rip Time was against her she had to move fast Because fabric that thin surely would not last With shelf high knees, she moved with haste Racing to the exit with no time to waste Her toes explode forth from her shoes below Ripping all around they were the next to go Tattered socks then naked feet Slapping the cold store with a thumping beat Her glow shined on, people would finally see A giant girl racing down aisle number 3 Knocking down products with her expanding frame Folks that entered went back where they came Moving that speed she’d surely trip Crushing everything with her massive hips Stepping over the register below Faster and faster she did grow “My god she’s at least 20 feet tall!” Said a fleeing man before hitting wall She was too big for the door even on her knees If she was 10 feet smaller she could fit through with ease But alas, she was stuck with people still inside The only now was for her to hide Breaking property wouldn’t ever be good But it wasn’t her choice she soon understood Sprawling back onto registers and cans Allie wheezed and gasped as she looked at her hands The shoppers screamed at her expanding size But everyone soon would get another surprise. The bubbles and churns, they would return Her body ached and soon began to burn “Why, oh why is this happening to me?” “Please make it stop!” Allie cried her plea Allie’s body grew huge, not stopping its swell But soon something else would grow as well Her legs, her arms, the sensation was strong “Oh-no, oh great, what else could go wrong?” Her thighs shook and moved all around Swelling as well with a stretching sound! They bulged and grew without pause or rest The same could be said about her jolting chest Her bra cried help as surrender was near At that rate and speed, damage would be severe Her panties could scream no more, no less Exploding in pieces from the massive stress The fight was over for her bra the same Finally letting loose the beasts they tamed Naked, nude, Allie gave a squeal With nothing around to help her conceal Covering her shame was all she could do With her rear to the people it began to plow through Pushing them back like a massive wall Knocking more store items, crushing them all The people could no longer get outside No matter how hard they pushed, shoved or tried “We’ll all be killed!” a man would shout “Surely there’s has to be another way out!” “There’s a door in the back!” an employee said “We can all go through there instead!” Running, scrambling they all fled in fear Leaving behind Allie’s growing rear She whimpered and watched as she couldn’t stop Growing from her legs and straight to the top “Ouch!” goes Allie she hit it with a spurt Rubbing her head “That really hurt.” The store was empty as she would see As well as her rear going back to aisle 3 It crushed the soda, the chips, and even the bread All while the ceiling fought bravely with her head Her glow hummed like a musical tune Around her body that was now a balloon Blowing up and out, the store was now in pain Cracking on top with a massive strain Allie’s legs burst forth through the windows ahead But her bottom would stay inside instead The ceiling was done as her head grew and grew With a massive “BOOM!” it finally breaks through With her head outside she could see all around But her lower part was still store bound “Stop growing! Stop growing!” Allie began to yell But her body continued to grow, expand and swell But her stomach yelled back as she could tell It didn’t take her demand very well Allie would soon have more on her plate As her angry belly began to inflate! Bubbling, gurgling, growing around Forming into a massive mound The front of the store was next on the list And in mere moments it would cease to exist The store collapsed in a cloud of dust Kicking up a dirty gust The store was gone, smashed away But the growing Allie would likely stay Her growing frame no longer contained Nothing left to keep it restrained “I’m growing faster!” Allie would see As her body expanded at a higher degree Her legs shoot forth, smashing cars in the lot Grinding stones to dust in her sitting spot She had to get up or surely she’d be stuck And so she turned over with a bit of luck On her knees, Allie tried to stand But her belly was too big and soon took command Standing to her feet was out of her reach She grunted and groaned and jumbled her speech The ground below crumbled and shook Her belly was so round she couldn’t even look This growth took control, it wouldn’t rest The only place was up, without request She could see the land shrinking small Cars and trees, she could see it all The breeze was cold across her nips She shivered and shook and wiggled her hips “This is just a dream. Nothing more” The growth, the mess, she tried to ignore But it felt very real as her toes hits a pole Snatching it up from its concrete hole The vibrations, the glow, it all seemed real Scouting her bellying and giving a feel Soon her legs would reach the street And cars would honk, swerving around her feet She could feel many bumps as cars collide Jammed up by her leg and stopping their ride Back in front her belly grew on Smooshing the cars and the ground It grew upon Higher she went with no sign of pause With no way to travel to the source of the cause “Why won’t I stop? The bottle was small!” But obviously that didn’t matter at all Her hands were the size of billboards and more Now as big the building she smashed up before She could do nothing else, but listen around And hear the orchestra of her bodily sounds Her skin felt tight as she grew everywhere Even the strands of her cinnamon hair The sounds were a mixture of rubber and hums Coming from every inch, even her thumbs Crash! Goes something big from behind! Something as big as her she surely would find Turning her head to see what she hit Her leg in a building plowing straight through it The girth of her shin would implode the frame Returning it stones from which it came Knocking down two, no three, even four Her legs devastate as they scraped across the floor She wiggled her toes and drew them in Feeling so much debris brushing on her skin Her front now met the cities other side Where her belly plowed through, now two buildings wide Nothing could withstand its pushing force Nowhere else to go, running its course Allie’s eyes filled with tears of fear She’d never stop growing, the end was near The city stood no chance against her giant frame Everything’s fate was one in the same Her hip pushed left, and her hip pushed right Not one thing no longer put up a fight Allie only hoped and prayed The people survived the mess she made A cloud of dust swept the ground From all the buildings destroyed around Allie sobbed and cried, at all the debris From the bottom of her heart she asked “Why me?” “If only I had listened to that woman’s words” “My head wouldn’t be soaring up with the birds” “I’m growing non stop and my body’s so big” “A fitting image for such a pig.” “I was so mean, I didn’t watch what I said” “I had to be smart and mouth off instead” “I guess this is it, my future looks bleak.” “Growing forever with this fleshy physique.” The city’s fall was now at its end Allie’s heart sank deep, while her body ascends She had become what she loathed, she realized then “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’ll never do it again!” Allie squinted her eyes and cried out a plea Only to open them again, and wake up in aisle 3 A dream? Really? Was it really all fake? Her head was fuzzy as she gave it a shake. “Are you alright miss?” A voice would say The man who ran never really went away “You said you were fine, but then you passed out” “I was gonna dial for help, but you woke up no doubt.” Allie was puzzled having help to rise Checking if she was indeed the right size Below his forehead, a sigh she gave Giving the okay, with a small wave She had to make amends, find the seller before So she dashes through the aisle and out of the door. Her heels clicked and clacked on the dark grey street Turning the corner on the solid concrete But alas, the woman was gone from that place And Allie held grief all over her face But that was when she realized She was located on the other side! “Oh miss! Hey miss!” Allie shouted with a wave This time would be different, she had to behave The seller would notice the returning girl Remembering that girl made her head whirl An expect reaction, Allie didn’t blame She walks up slowly, lowering her head in shame “I’m sorry, forgive me, I was out of my mind.” “Please forgive my actions for I was not kind.” The old seller pondered, she rubbed her chin Trying to find the forgiveness within She looked at Allie’s puppy dog eyes And truly knew her words weren’t lies “ Young one, you’ve learned quite a lot.” “In a shorter time than I expected or thought” “You are forgiven, now away with you, shoo” “I have many customers and much work to do.” “Thank you, thank you!” Allie said right away Turning around to continue her day But wait, she’s busy, and what customers? Where? Allie quickly turned around… and she wasn’t there Not there? How strange, Allie thought in her head Was she another dream? Or a mirage instead Allie’s head hurt as she walked down the street Scratching her head “I need something sweet.” Some candy or something, it would bring her cheer She believed she’d gone mad, or so she feared Digging in her bag to find something nice Around her keychain with fuzzy dice She saw something odd and grabbed with care To her shock and surprise, the bottle was there…~ Last edited by ProfessorMishap; 03-15-2009 at 02:44 PM. |

Indeed. I just wanted to flesh it out and make it go along with his pictures. That or I got carried away again... ._.

Re: Up and Out - Contest Entry
Just my opinion, but shortening it by 75% might not be a bad idea. Either that, or.. try turning it into a story maybe.

Hmm, I think I made it long since I saw a poem long ago using story telling and it inspired me. |

Re: Up and Out - Contest Entry
I don't see the need to shorten it, breaking it up into stanzas would accomplish the same thing.

There is no need to shorten it. Very imaginative.

Some stanzas would really go a long way, however.

Screw shortening it. It's perfect the way it is.

Re: Up and Out - Contest Entry
Awesome. No need to shorten it either! I'd like to see more stuff like this, epic poems about growth. Keep it up!!
