I find this a bit difficult to believe. She's actually showing even more skin than when she wasn't "censored". I mean, granted, they probably upped her cup size to avoid anything relating her to a loli, but still, the method they used is hypocritical. It's not even ironic.

Well, various forms of censorship are fast becoming a marketing tool for fan service anime. If it is real it might not so much be to cover anything as it is to boost sales. And given how many animation corrections are made in post broadcast of the show it doesn't seem that far outside the realm of possibility.

That said I still share your skepticism.

Well with Bluray, you can fit more data, and things can be higher res (bigger picture_, so I guess they pulled a Lucas. I bet they're sayign that before, they were constrained by the technology of the time, and now that Blu-ray is out, then can bring you her true character through deep CG visual effects that seem realer than real! See I bet they always wanted her to have huge tits, but they jsut didn't have a believable way of doing any bathing suit scenes without it looking horrible mocked up, and so it got cut from the original script. But now their vision can be complete!

It looks photoshopped when I zoomed in on the breasts.
Note the lines disappear on the bottom of the right half of the bikini.
The top of the left half is a straight line while her left breast is behind his waist, which shows that the use of digital editing right there.
That and there's a bit of color loss which shouldn't happen on Blu-Ray.
