Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

Having just got home from watching this, all I gotta say about it is this:

It. Was. Awesome. Go watch it.

Now, I'm going to have to cheat with giving out my opinion on the movie by posting a link to another person's review of the film. But the thing is, he nailed it for me in a way that I don't think I can articulate in words: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide...691-Iron-Man-2

I can guarantee that you will not be dissatisfied with this film. And be sure to stick around after the credits for a nerdgasm

Re: Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

Well, I'm gonna go ahead to bite the bullet, and tell ya that they teased the next film starring the one and only God of Thunder, Thor. Then again, I doubt I'll get much backlash for it, considering that image of the actor in costume has been floating around the internet for a while, now.

Re: Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

Twas really good.
It didn't wow me like the original, but that's because of the plot, not the quality of it.
Some of the critics think its worthy of being compared to Transformers 2 just because it got silly at times. Tony Stark is not Peter Parker, he will be an idiot at times because he's rich, successful, and is legitimately superior to a majority of people.
....well that and he LOVES alcohol.

In my opinion, comparing Iron Man to Transformers is like comparing apples to a pile of shit that was regurgitated by a dying llama. And the only reason he fucks up alot is because he's been drunk off his tits the entire time. I don't know where this "legitimately superior" aspect comes from. I know he is a billionaire playboy with the mind of a genius, but he isn't the only "superior" person to inhabit the Marvel Universe. And while I'll agree with you about Tony not being Peter, that's sorta redundant. It's like me saying Captain America isn't like Black Panther.

Re: Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

What I meant from the Peter comparison is Tony can be a jackass unlike other recent heroes on the big screen. So going straight from genius playboy to heroic icon to the whole world not going so well should be more than expected.

And by superior, I mean in the movie-verse. There is no one other than him on the map in his and the public's eyes.
Even Captain America's shield was hilariously proven irrelevant.
That will change once the crossovers actually start but that won't be until two years from now.

Saw this a few hours ago, and about creamed my pants from the awesomeness. Not huge on the Marvel films, especially after Spiderman 3, but Iron Man 2 was the perfect mix of action and hilarity. And it has Sam L Jackson in it, so that's a plus

Re: Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

There are a few things I'd have changed about this movie... and those three things that are on the top five on my list...

Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, delete.
Whoever the heck as non russian black widow, delete
whoever as Rhodes, delete.

Sam is like Chris Evans and George Cloney, he only plays one part, and that's just not Justin Hammer.

Whoever the black widow was in my opinion she didn't warrant being even in the movie.

Rhodes, same thing. His part was so minor he could have been cut out, they could have had Falcon take out the armor for Iron Man... they only have the first fight between them so they can later lamely kill Crimson Whiplash Dynamo.

I liked it thought, but honestly I'm not sure which I liked more... this or The Losers... I certainly like it more than The Throat Cancer Lip Smacker Dark Knight.

Actually... Captain America IS like the Black Panther. :P Only... you know... Steve Rogers.

The sense of superority depends on which universe this is. If it's the Ultimate Universe, which I assume it is cause Samuel L is playing Fury, then Tony Stark hands down is the smartest person on the planet. His entire body is like a brain, capable of processing and absorbing information faster than even Doom and Richards... of course Ultimate Iron Man doesn't have a piositronic heart.

Re: Iron Man 2 (Mild Spoiler)

I went on a trip.
Left Thursday for Mississippi.
Got there after two flights and left to see my brother.
Thursday was win.
The airport smelled of old people and Shrimp, but I'm not gonna talk bad about Ol' Miss' for that.
I got to hang out with my bro muddin' in his gigantic truck, listening to AC/DC and then go see Iron Man 2.
Thursday was officially epic.

I honestly expected every song to be by AC/DC since they were the main coordinator's for the movie... like REM with Man On The Moon. :P

Hammer is a recurring villain for Tony Stark. It made sense for them to use the character, and Rockwell was great in the role, I find. Much better than seeing some crotchety old man.

And your point is...? No, seriously. The only reason I could think of that would warrant her presence is that she currently works for S.H.E.I.L.D., and who better to spy on someone than her? And just because someone's birth place isn't an English speaking one, doesn't mean they have to have an accent all the time.

Ah yes; the deus ex repulsor blast. I'm sorry, but Falcon? As in, Red Falcon? Captain America's token black friend? That just wouldn't make sense, considering, you know, Rhodey is Tony's token black friend. And, yeah, it was a bit douchey when he took the Mark II armor to be turned into War Machine, but that's the direction they wanted to with. Who am I to say otherwise?

Sam Jackson is Nick fury because Mark Millar wanted him to be Fury for the Ultimate Universe LONG before the idea of an interconnecting "filmverse" came about. And, when Jackson saw this, he said he'll just have to play the character for when the time comes. (By the way, this happened without Jackson's permission, but he was cool with later.) This, however, isn't the Ultimate Universe. Sure, both take place in modern times, but the films don't feature Tony Stark as a perpetual ass-hat. And neither is the film Stark in anyway the same as his Ultimate counter-part, i.e., no extra brain tissue encompassing his body.

I can't see how anyone can argue the decisions behind these films, when you consider they've been made by the people who own the characters, and do with them what they will.

I'm going to pass out now, because that took too long and too much energy. Plus, I couldn't help but turn in this guy:

Not that I'm saying you're wrong, I'm just rebutting your opinion.
