Try it with beer, a lot of beer. If you end up in the bed of an unknown man chances are that you are pregnant.

actually, I wonder if there isnt a way to create a test tube baby with only dna from 2 female donors... IT would only be able to produce a female child, but it's a really interesting idea...

Theoretically, yes. In practice, not yet. The closest we've come is induced activation of ooctyes of rhesus monkeys and the results are developmental abnormalities and spontaneous abortion. Mammals have imprinted genetic regions where either the maternal or the paternal chromosome is inactivated. Development is dependant on this. Two sets of maternal DNA won't do. We haven't found a way around it.
But, holy shit, do I wish I was pregnant. The baby longings are brutal right now. I know it's impractical at the moment but I'm absolutely begging my partner to put a baby in me. I swear the entirety of my brain and body is yearning for one. It's intense and horrible and I feel like I'm going to explode. |
