Spider Thing

The Thing is one of my favorite movies, so I always wanted to see a female going through a Thing transformation. The mind always seemed to be the last thing to go when people transformed in the two films, which is a pretty frightening concept. The organism in the movies seems to have a preference to growing spider-like appendages, so for me this was a no brainer.

PS. Don't worry Rei, I haven't forgotten your request.

Re: Spider Thing

The mind going last is the best way to do transformations in my opinion.

Ooh, that one's pretty awesome too. The darker scene gives it scarier vibe, so does having the TF being a little further along, she's just a bit less human now.

Re: Spider Thing

I think I liked the backwards arms a little better as it was a bit freakier but the lighting works better in this one if you're going for creepy

Reminds me of one of my favorite arts from Pixiv.

Woah... that's eerily similar. I'm kinda freaked out now.

Yeah, now you're freaked out.

Seriously, though, I always thought these kinds of morphs were cooler to look at than they were practical. I might have to rethink that last part.

EDIT: I suppose my reaction might be geared on how she acted, though.
If she said "cool, EXTRA ARMS!" I'd probably deal... but if she started eying me hungrily, then suggested that I witness her transformation, I'd run out screaming.
When the morphing victim decides you're delicious - but not in THAT WAY - game over, man.

Re: Spider Thing

That artist on Pixiv has another couple of good insect/spider morphs, as well, including one with arm/eye process.

Re: Spider Thing

Oh cool, that's by the same artist who did the first spider morph image I ever saw. That's some good stuff.

As for GenYun's image: on its own, I like it. I can't really get a Thing from Another World vibe from it, though. The scary thing about the Thing is that its body could be whatever it wanted to be at any time, but unless someone was trying to kill it it didn't really want to be anything. It could live like a normal person by just letting the personality take over, and its ego wouldn't give it away because it doesn't have an ego. It did didn't assimilate people because it liked to or even wanted to; it was just what it did.
